Do I need council planning permission to place a Flexihome unit on my land ? Not normally, but this is subject to individual area councils interpretation and varies from state to state and even council to council, so please take time to check with your local authority. The Flexihome mobile home unit generally has a greater floor area than that of a caravan, but is still classed as a caravan for towing and siting purposes. The units can be legally sited anywhere a caravan can be..... under normal circumstances, the units don't normally need a building construction permit, as they fall outside the remit of building regulations, but take time to check this out, to satisfy yourself in your particular situation, as to what you need to do to comply.

No fixed seating in the lounge area mean you can set it up as you like, and you get one or two completely separate bedrooms, and a proper domestic kitchen and large shower bathroom.
Why would I consider a Flexivan unit over an alternative re-locatable home ? There are several reasons why you might consider; 1) You do not want the delays and hassle in applying for the standard building construction permits, required for any normal, permanent unit that is not road registered. 2) Your land is in a flood prone area and only towable, registered structures are permitted (this is becoming increasingly asked for by parks and authorities) Also the unit can be just hooked up and moved away within an hour should floods be declared imminent. 3) You want a quality, comfortable home that can be easily delivered to site and then just as easily be relocated again should your circumstance change or you just want a change of location. 4) You want a high quality, domestic grade accommodation, offering unmatched value for money.
